This document outlines the technical requirements for Gerd Leonhard's live on-site presentations. Please read all specifications carefully and confirm receipt by returning a signed copy.

Gerd's presentations are designed in a 16:9, wide-screen aspect ratio but a super-widescreen setup (i.e. wider than 1920 pixels) is much preferred, if the event location can provide it. Gerd uses Apple Keynote to create cinematic shows that require the use of his own MacBook on-stage (i.e. not with the production team). Please note that a conversion to MSFT PPT is not possible, and Windows computers are thus not supported.
Extra-wide LED walls and cinema-type screen formats are preferred, allowing Gerd to make full use of his custom-made designs, backgrounds and animations. Please kindly notify us at least 4 weeks prior to the event which exact pixel ratio is required (e.g. 3280 x 1920). Once the production has started, we can no longer revert to 16:9. The maximum supported width is 8100 pixels wide. For examples please visit futuristgerd.com/extrawide on YouTube. For LED walls with several screens, kindly provide a draft or a photo/screenshot, and a scenario map.
For large events (defined as an audience of over 250 people), a mandatory TECHNICAL CALL with the producer/technical director, as well as a signed confirmation of this rider is required to ensure that preparations are undertaken according to Gerd's specifications.
Wireless headset microphone is required, no clip-on or hand-held are permitted.
Gerd Leonhard requests a feedback video monitor to mirror his slides. This monitor should be proportionally larger for larger events.
If requested, Gerd will provide a USB stick or download link with a back-up copy of his presentation, on location (Apple.key format only). These are for back-up purposes only, and are not for public distribution. Previews are provided in pdf format, and are only used for content and script review.
A technical check / rehearsal should be scheduled at least 45-60 minutes prior to the opening of the conference or Gerd's presentation, with all relevant technical personnel present. If at all possible, the rehearsal slot should be timed so that Gerd can leave his MacBook connected, on the stage.
Gerd makes extensive use of graphics, videos, backgrounds and animations. They are essential to his cinematic style of presenting. If Gerd's speech is live-streamed or recorded for later use, we kindly request that wide angle shots are made to capture the images/videos Gerd (and not only Gerd's close-up) or to use several cameras and picture-in-picture post-event production methods.
After Gerd's MacBook has been setup, the client's technical personnel must guarantee its safety until Gerd returns to the stage and begins his presentation.
A standard HDMI connection and audio-out (mini-jack) is required. A power-plug must be available. All cables and switcher systems must support at least full HD and outputs of up to 8000 pixels in width, and must be tested with Apple hardware prior to Gerd's technical check.
An Internet connection is not required, but if wireless Internet access is available, Gerd should have access to it.
A big part of Gerd's performance is the personal connection with the audience, therefore 'direct to headset' event-audio-systems that transmit sound directly to audience headsets /live on-stage audio sound are not permitted.
